Default noob

I'm a noob to RC racing and was able to get some good info from you guys while browsing the forums. I bought a Volcano STX for my son and blew the engine after only 3 minutes of running it! [&o] I just ordered a replacement motor from Top Speed Toys today so I hope I can break this one in without blowing it up!

I also have a Traxxas T-Maxx as well that I've owned for a few months.

I look forward to browsing the forums to learn more tricks and tips.

Thanks,

Bruce

Hey Bruce,

Welcome to the forums!!

Thank you for your order

If you don't mind me asking.... how did you blow up a motor in 3 minutes?

Mark

I don't know how I did it? It was running fine then it just stopped? This was the first time I started it. I tried to pull start it and it was locked up. So I removed the plug to see if would break loose with no luck. I took it a part and found a broke rod, but the way it broke is weird looking. I'll post some pics to show you guys what I mean.

I'm convinced that my first motor was a bad one. I got my new motor from TST and spent all night with my son breaking it in. This thing runs nice! I've run 6 tanks of nitro through it now and all is well.

Now all I have to do is turn my son into a mechanic! I have a drag car so I spend a lot of time tuning that and now I see that I'm going to be spending a lot of time on his Redcat and my Traxxas.
