I wouldn't worry to much about not having a clue on how to work on your truck. Thanks to these guys here I am pretty good with working on my tornado xp.(I could do it with my eyes closed)lol. Anyway I have not seen any thread on how to put a rotostart in. I am sure with the help of these guys you shouldn't have to much trouble. Good luck with your truck and welcome to the forum.

you remove the 4 screws that hold on the pullstart and put the rotostart plate on in its place, i would suggest getting an hpi pullstart for the nitrostar.15 since you will need a backplate, rotostart wand, 7.2v battery and a charger for the battery in order to use the rotostart and also make sure you have the battery charged.

Hey BUBB, welcome!
This is the HPI clutch bell you need - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFKM8&P=7
It's the 18t, rather than the 16t stocker. It will add more top end speed, and you won't lose much torque at all. You can get any size you want, as far as teeth, just make sure it's the $11 version for the HPI Savage, which is the H/D (heavy duty) hardened steel. The $6 one is just as bad, if not worse then the stocker. You'll also see the racing ones for about $15. You can get one for the cool factor, but it's not necessary. Compatible, but not necessary... These are direct replacements. No mods or extra parts necessary.
Like I said, HPI Savage H/D or Heavy Duty 18t. If you don't want to get it from Tower, the HPI part # is A993. I was lucky enough to find it at one of my LHS (local hobby shops)

HEy Bubb you asked how fast in another thread. I responded no way 60 don't be disappointed you will love how fast your truck really is. I am still very new to this hobby and 30 to 40 is plenty fast. I hope you have fun with your Truck when you get it.
