Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a good RC electric buggy kit (without engine and receiver/radio) under $100
(my last option is just to buy a tornado epx) [:-]

Hey ehroof I've got another question for you. What is the best for turnbuckles aluminum, titanium or carbon fiber? I've bent both the aluminum and titanium ones but haven't tried the carbon fiber ones yet. This is for my Jato. I went aluminum on everything else and really haven't had problems except for shocks and tie rods. I probably wouldn't bend any of it if I would stop jumping it but where's the fun in that.

one more. The os 18cv-rx is great in my bb pro but it almost is too much power. Before when a rock would get stuck in the tranny gears the car would stop because the engine didn't have the power to force it through but with the os i'm ripping the tranny gears up every other day. Do they make a better set of gears or a different tranny that has metal gears? I would rather go through clutch bells than trannies. It would be cheaper and easier to fix anyway. Is there a way to seal the transmission most of the way so I don't get rocks in it?

dont get aluminum, get the titanium turnbuckles, the aluminum bends and break easily. i didnt know they make carbon fiber turnbuckles.

put the single speed setup for the xl in the tornado, i did in one of my tornado's. i bet that would last longer, there are no aftermarket gears or trans's that would work either bro.

I found all the carbon fiber stuff on ebay. I thought it might be o.k. but probably not worth the money.
I'll order the different tranny and clutch bell today and see if it makes a difference. The biggest problem is driving them up gravel piles. When they get stuck they pretty much bury themselves. I figure something out eventually.

Thanks for the quick help.

ehroof, since you always seem to have good advice I've got a question of opinion for you. I was looking at engines for my hurricane xl. I took your advice and put in the sts .28 but while searching ebay I found an sts .30 and then a modded sts .30....I don't know how to make a link but if you cut and paste then do a search at ebay it should bring you right to it. My question is would it really be that different or should i stick to the stock .30?

there will be a big difference in the rbmodded engine, its ported and polished and well worth the additional money.

thanks for the compliment

either the os .18 cvrx or the sh .18 will smoke the stock vx .18. if you use the exchange program from redcat you can get the sh .18 at a cheap price. if you upgrade to the steel bell or have the steel bell on it from redcat you will be ok, you can check by seeing if a magnet sticks to it, if so, its steel.
