Should get the HPI A886, it's what I have and has two sets of the spring/tension clips.

Gold = high stall rate
Black = standard stall rate

The HPI A885 is a good set too (but still has a wrap around spring) adjustable stall rate by cutting the clutch shoes.

you dont adjust the stall rate by cutting the shoes, it comes with 3 holes to put the clutches in and depending what hole you put it in gives you the different stall rate.

Okay, maybe not on our rides it's not necessary but I was speaking from manufacturer instructions:

wow, i have that in my hpi and never seen that, i read the instructions too, lol.

so should i put it in the third hole ( or letter C in the instructions) for better low end?

Ok i finally replaced my clutch shoes and springs. What they looked like when i took them off.


Hpi racing clutch's spring was pain in the butt to keep two sides connected. I also tried to install 13/18 clutch bell but no luck. Couldnt figure it out.

get the firestom clutch it fis coz i have it in my volcano.it is perfection nicely fitted in.
