Default redcat lightning shifting problem

Hello guys, I am new to this hobby and I have a lightning from redcat. It doesn't shift gears, yet its a bit fast. Some guy said
it is faster then my other car which its a traxxas rustler. Now I busted two teeth on the big gear of throttle number 6 on the manual which is on 15th page under sleeve pipe of throttle. Can anybody help me to get a new one from different brand and why this happens and how
to fix the tranny to shift on second.

thanks

There is a clutch in the transmission that has an arm that kicks out when you hit a certain RPM, you have to adjust the set screw till you get it to the tension that lets the arm kick out in the proper RPM range. Also about the Spur gear stripping you should replace your clutch bell with an updated version to avoid the stripping of the gears. The aluminum clutch bells get hot running against the aluminum clutch shoes and warp causeing the clutch bell to be out of round and strip out the transmission gears.

This should be the gear you need for the main spur gear:

no if it pops off it is broken. You need to replace it.

No it shouldn't pop off. You need to replace it and I would suggest the Traxxas 4146X spring mroe durabel and a better stale rate. You don't use the Traxxas clutch shoes though, you throw them away and keep the spring.
