diff gear

Default diff gear

my son stripped the diff gear this evening on his volcano was there a reason for this already? 3rd time out just got it just put new plug in it was running great going thru the snow with no problem then just stopped going forward with engine running but no drive. took top off and gear was warn down???

did you make sure the gears meashed properly before you drove it???

2 other times we took it out no problems so i assume they were ok

With this sport/hobby you need to add blue locktite to all metal to metal screws, or the motor will vibrate them lose, including the screws that hold the motor down, the c cup grub screw's, if it has a 2 speed tranny in it the 2 way drive clutch grub screw's.

BTW- thats a spur gear not a diff gear. The diff gears are unadjustable and steel. Doubt you are gonna strip those

yes diff gears strip. It happens all the time. If your pinion bearing goes out, or if it is not shimmed correctly, you can strip a diff gear But yes he is talking about a spur lol
