another glow plug question

Default another glow plug question

so i have been blowing plugs like crazy. runs for about 5 mins and pop. i am useing traxxas long hot plugs. i have tried rich and lean. please help me plugs get pricey..lol

lol you dont. Did you try osa3's? I wouldn't use long in the vx18. What oring on the carb? The needles?

the orings on the neck there is 2 of them they are real thin.. the part that slides into the motor?

with the carb off and i pull the pull start real slow and as it comes to tdc i hold pressure but not to much should it let go after a few sec, or is my engine junk?

try rotating the flywheel and see the compression. Alot of times with the pull start , it will release like that.

your probably running the engine too lean, thats why your burning plugs out. get the os a3, a great cheap plug: http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/s...A3-plug/Detail

PA's not that far from NY, lol. I dont sell redcats and i am not a dealer, just here to help out. If you want to race, pick up the monsoon, if you want to race, bash and have a great time, get the avalanche, its a good racer and great jumper

what if the motor leaks fule out of the front betwen the engine and flywheel not alot just a few drips. also when pushing the flywheel you get compression then loose it...

make sure its not coming from the carb . If not then your front crank bearing might be shot.

i agree with dennis, sounds like a bad front bearing, usually fuel will leak when shot between the engine and flywheel.
