Default Glitching EPX

Any one with a Redcat EPX having problems with throttle response glitching? When pushing the throttle quick, the tsunami just jerks. If you push throttle really slow then it will move, but you have to do it slowly. Batteries are fully charged, Brand new ones is radio and Tsunami is brand new. Tried a second radio and still the same. Just wanted to see if anyone is running into the same problem or if i just got a bad one to start with. I am guessing the speed controller is shot!

I had the same problem and it was the stock battery which didn't fully charge. I also bought a second 3000mh battery and when charged with a Hot Bodies charger the car worked. I took me three charges to get the stock battery to work properly.

i agree, sounds like the batter needs to be cycled a few times, "charged and discharged"

Well i tried the 3000 mah battery from redcat and now the reverse speed controller started to melt and smell! The battery has been cycled through 3 times. Not sure what caused that to happen, this is brand new only tried to drive it 5 times.

It seemed to drive fine forward this time, but not reverse.

I tried a couple Epic packs that i have been using for awhile and the same deal, the reverse is still glitching and does not want to move. All you hear is the speed controller make a loud pitch noise and the RC just twitching back.

does it bind when you push it backwards by hand? if not, sounds like esc is fried, did you try to reprogram it? press button, go forward and reverse, let go.

There was no binding, i did try and reprogram and nothing just got worse. It now is twitching both ways, the 3000mah battery from redcat when hooked up starts to melt the ESC in a matter of 30sec. I take it the ESC is shot, man that sucks i never even got a chance to drive it!

How does the brushless work with stock batteries or 3000mah batteries?

Sounds like the components inside need to be beefed up a bit to handle the amps that our motors demand.

If you can, tear it apart and look for black marks (signs of burned up component). Take a clear picture if possible and post it. If everyone happens to be smoking the same component, then the manufacturer of the ESC needs to look into why that component is failing and how to replace it with something fit for the job.
