Default Try again

(SH. 28) Avalanche:
So I got a new clutchbell assembly and new ofna aluminum shoes. After I put it all back together, the clutchbell spins freely but can slide about 3/32" outward. Here is how it goes together from crankshaft end: screw, lock washer, med. washer, 2 shims, spacer shaft that goes around screw, clutchbell, inner bearing, aluminum spacer, outer bearing. This same condition also occued the last time I had to replace it all with the factory parts (and that lasted only a single tank). I dont think the clutch bell should move that much but maybe I am wrong. Any input appreciated.

The bell should be shimmed to where it has very little movement front to back, but should spin freely [&o]

So if I have only three shims on there, and thats all I have, could I use a washer?
