What do the stock body posts look like?
I always make my own body posts out of aluminum.
Do they mount on the rear(or front) shock towers?

my volcano came with a hummer body and has super long rear posts. They snap real easy and i just keep lowering them since they brake at the bottom. I'm just gonna switch to a shell that dosent need long posts since my lhs cant get them. its too bad since the volcano looks real mean with the hummer body on it.

I would have to have the shock tower in my hand to get the spacing between the bolt holes. Got an old shock tower laying around?

That will work. I usually get my round stock at Lowes or Home Depot.
