is it possible to mount a traxxas easy start to a avalanche XP. seems like there is plenty of room for it. anyone have any ideas or info?

ok cant they make one for a big block. whats difference does it make if it is a small or a big block. if the easy start can fit the pull start screw it should work

I'm gonna save you some headaches. Ez start won't fit, but Iknow something else that will
Here is a starter kit for your SH engine. It pretty much comes with everything you need. Keep in mind that this is a "wand" style starter. Be sure you have the space to start it like this... I know i can on my Monsoon XTR, so you probably have the room.

i had the wand start system. it stripped my one way bearings like 3 times. i finally said screw it and went back to a pull start.

unfortunately neither of the ez-starts will.
I dono why he made that comment, because regardless small block or big block, there are many roto-start kits that can fit both! Heck, redcat even has that written in the description
As per description for item #R-70111T: Starter Gun & BackPlate for VX16 & VX18 Vertex Engines &SH18 SH21 engines (Battery and Charger NOT included) Includes 11011h12backing plate.
Now, I know you have a SH .28, I just used that one to prove a point because it fits small blocks AND big blocks.
