also i was wondering about an electric volcano how fast will they run are they alot slower than the nitro version

ehroof 01-24-2008 11:10 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

i would suggest using the spring and keeping the stock clutch shoes and yes the nitro version is faster, get the electric and put a brushless system in, the one that redcat sells, its fast as can be, lol

i have a vx .18 motor in my stx..is a .18 GO motor any better ???

ehroof 01-25-2008 12:59 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

i dont know about the go engines, i would go for the sh.18 or the os cvrx before i would go for the go engine

if you use the engine replacement program from redcat, you can get the sh .18 for less than $50: http://www.redcatracing.com/itemdeta...tno=sh18engine

or the os .18 cvrx: http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/s...lue-11j/Detail

i want to replace my transmitter in my stx ..do i need a 2 or 3 chanel ??
whats the difference ??

ehroof 01-25-2008 03:12 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

2 channel, a 3rd channel would be for reverse or putting lights on and off, 1 channel is throttle, 1 channel is steering so you would only need 2

ehroof 01-25-2008 04:37 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

pede_187 01-25-2008 04:40 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

Yeah but the SV PRO has the infinity

ehroof 01-25-2008 04:43 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

That would be awesome!

I have the sv pro with the infinity engine. It seems to run ok but it only has the high speed needle, which makes it a pain to tune.

Can anyone suggest a durable rim for the volcano that will fit the stock tires? I have three busted stock ones now. One is totally shot and the other two are cracked through the center.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

You will need two sets of these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJK63&P=ML

They came stock on my stampede and I never broke one.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

Thanks, but looking for something with a bit more style, gotta have the bling. I actually like the looks of the stock rims, just don't want to be constantly replacing them.

Will any 2.2 rim with 12mm hex work?

ehroof 01-25-2008 05:13 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

just get some more stock ones, lol. maybe you got some out of a bad batch, mine are fine after alot of jumping.

most 2.2 and 2.8 with the 12mm hex will work.

pede_187 01-25-2008 05:19 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

They're the same as the ones as these except they're painted http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...x_stampede.htm

Mandoza 01-25-2008 05:34 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

Yeah maybe I'll do that, just looking through all the rims on tower I got a headache lol. I can just use ca glue on the tires, correct?
