RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

HELP! Does anyone know if the nitro engine on my Volcano can cause interferance with my radio controls? Here's the deal. With the engine not runnning the controls work flawlessly 10 20 40 60 feet away and more. But when I start the engine the radio controls are irratic or dont respond at all. If the motor isn't causing it what else can it be? I've replaced beatteries several times charged the reciever battery and tried a new one. Checked all connections on the truck. Checked the crystals. I dont know where else check. Please Help

The motor should not cause any interference. I've had 3 diffrent trucks and never had that happen. R u using a rotostart or something electronic to start it?

actually the motor can cause interfearence. Check the antenna, make sure its not broken anywhere or touching metal.

Hey everyone, forum is still great and helpful! I have a question that may be dumb or may not be. I noticed on my volcano that i can move the spur gear from front to back inside the differential box until it hits both sides (casing of diff box) either way. Is this normal or is something wrong? Doesnt really seem to be hurting it but thought i might check and see what you fellas thought.

is it true that clermonts direct drive and clutchbell kit takes away from the low end?

Thats what we are here for so no question is a dumb question.:D Have u looked inside the diff and made sure everything was tight ans nothing was broke[sm=71_71.gif]?

i found the upgrade made a good improvement all around. You need to use a 13 tooth bell with it though to keep low end power.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

No i Havent checked inside the diff yet but upon outer examination it appears fine, and works fine. I will have to check it out this afternoon after work. It has been that way for a while, i didnt believe it was right. Thanks tho overdrivest ill examine it further. I was hoping someone else had the experience of this same problem if its even a problem. Ill check it out and let you know. Thanks so much man, and any one else that offers help.

ok good, because i actualy prefer the low end to high end, but high end is always fun too. And i did get the 13 tooth in the package from clermont.

is it true that i can get different sized spur gears for the direct drive, and how many teeth is the standard direct drive spur gear?

racemaxx24 03-24-2008 12:27 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

I would have thought a direct drive would produce more low end but u always learn new things.[sm=idea.gif]

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

i think there is a 42 tooth but it give more high end than low end power, more teeth more low end on the spur and the opposite on the clutch bell

perhamrocks 03-24-2008 12:38 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

alright i found them. 42, 44, 58, and 64 teeth

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

02112 and 05112 are the only ones you can use for the single speed setup (clermont) the other are for the electrics or the other cars and stuff

perhamrocks 03-24-2008 01:23 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

so i take it that the 44 tooth is the stock spur gear for the direct drive.

What kinda upgrades can you get a volcano clutch. Im trying to get it to power wheelie...lol. If I hit a bump I can get it to ride one. I have the front dog bone out...well I crashed and lost it and the drive cup.

Alright ehroof and overdrive guess what came in today.... it was the pull start! :D:D:):)after a long 4 months finally.. i jus placed her on the engine and she fit like a charm now.. all i have to wait for is that darn dogbone.. do you think 3WD will hurt the truck? im just missing 1 dogbone on the front left ... wondering if i can run it without for a while?? here are some pics of my volcano with viper body and my micro t with my volcano..enjoy!:D

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

Be pacient. Just wait for the dogbone to come in so u don't break anything else. Nice Volcano by the way and also, it won't be 3 wd drive. It will only be two because of the way the differentills are designd
