ROFL!! Good one, Captain! Hey dunk, dontcha just love how you got voted? Reminds me of my time on a rural volunteer fire dept. If you weren't there at the election meeting, you got voted into a position anyway!

One of the needless to say rules of spad is durability. What happens to the Acrylic Tube when you throw it into the air, and it lands on the paved runway? It would look cool, but I think it would be too brittle to use as a construction material.

I say give it a shot and see what happens....just be sure to set your CG as accurately (?) as possible. I've had to make a "best guess" on some original designs (with mixed results), but when in doubt, think nose heavy......

I have some that are used to store cimputer IC's

Should make quite a good light spar if you can find the right size.

Give it a try and find out
