What is a SPA3DT?
Last summer I built and flew the heck out of a QHOR. Since I had a .46 ASP looking for an airplane to power, I was going to build a SPA3D. I don’t check in here very often and now I see talk about a SPA3DT what is the difference from the 3D?
Any other designs that I may have missed out on that you would recomend?
Thanks in advance

RE: What is a SPA3DT?
Well, it's been found that the less flex with these designs, the better. It also improves high speed flight. Anway the Spa3dt is built with a piece of 1" tubular aluminum, which has 4 complete sides, rather than the C-channel, which exhibits flex. It's a little more work, you have to cut out holes for servos and some taper cutouts, but the result is a better performer and much much more rugged. No more bending at the lg point either.

RE: What is a SPA3DT?
What FrankC29 said.
If you are only going to fly low and SLOW, the the SPA3D is the way to go. If you're lookin for something more along the lines of a sport/3D plane, then seriously consider the SPA3DT.
I finally got my new SPA3DT up and flying today and it was pretty rock solid in 10-15mph winds. It also handles higher speeds that caused my SPA3D to choke and puke. After today's flights, my SPA3D is history as I was looking for something that was a more sport/3D and I found it in the SPA3DT. If I want to scoot around with the other sport planes it will do it, but then if I want to get everybody's attention with some low and very slow stuff, the SPA3DT does it all.
Just mho,
