world models t-34

Looks like Vaca Valley has 3 T-34 races scheduled. The bay area rules were AX .46 and any un-modified prop. I used the Bolly sportsman 9.5X7 and the APC 9.5X7N pylon prop. If there are still finalizing rules I would suggest allowing aftermarket mufflers as the stock OS unit is unreliable. I do plan to attend your races

I took a look at rules. [link=http://www.vacavalleyrc.com/t34racing.html]VacaValley T-34 Rules[/link]
Stock muffler with just baffle removed.
Also rules specify list of allowed props and nothing smaller than a 10" is in the list and does not include a 10x5.
Interesting to see which of the allowed props will be the best.
Should be fun stock racing.

the allowed props is strange to me. i havent went and looked at other sites but what is the general rules around the country racing these planes?
they say you can run regular zingers but not the pro zingers lol
i am sure that when i find a good combo of is in the rules it will change again lol they should state only one prop.

As the person who originated the Triangle Series and did the rules throughout the 12 years, I dont understand why someone needs to re-invent the wheel with another set of rules for the same plane. Oh well.
My honest opinion as I have built a hundred of them and tried everything to make sure cheating was impossible, that the 10 x 6 prop APC is going to be the best. The T-34 is very draggy and the lower pitch will be helpful. Irun the 10 X 5 which was always fast out of the turns. The 9.5 X 6 was also very popular. I also run a 2-3/4" spinner which is just slightly oversized which is 70mm. Throw the tank away and use a good tank such as sullivan, tetra or dubro. As to the hardware, I toss the wire and use 2-56 and 4-40. As to setting the plane up, Ialways set mine up tail heavy as they turn better.
Out of the engine choices, stick to the O.S. Tower's run hard, but they dont last to long. If you dont run the O.S., the Thundertiger Pro would be the next choice. To buy the supertiger and there is a clause they may make it illegal is just a waste of money. First person to win with one will make the engine illegal.

Just FYI, if you guys want to race more, you can always enter the T-34 with any muffler into the Fresno and Morgan Hill Warbird Races in the 46 Warbird Class.

Hey Guys,
I talked to Monty who is coordinating everything and he said we are welcome to race there. Just make sure you call the night prior to verify the race is a go if weather is bad. I just got a kit in and started putting it together . Going to try to fly Sunday. SHould be done tonight, but the weather sucks.

Ihave motors that are 3 and 4 years old and even the original first Ax's and havent had to replace any bearings. After each run, I run the gas out of each engine and then use Rislone Oil to lube up the engines. You can open a single one and never find any rust. If you keep care of the bearings, they last.</p>
