I'll probably have to skip the Fun Fly so I have some time to complete regular chores, those items on my wife's "Honey-do" list, and continue to work on my new wing. I don't have much in the way of a sport-flyer completed at this moment, anyway.

Good! Then I will definitely make a point of being out there next Saturday, and look forward to seeing you!

Terrific! I will meet you out whichever time you two wish. It will be too soon for me to have the Ghost ready to go so you can fly it and see what you think; but I should have the wing at least covered by then, and will bring it out.

I hate to do this to you, but of the 2 airplanes I am going to have available for the race, this past weekend 1 was not finished with the repairs and the other had a fuel issue and I was not able to maiden her. I don't want to make the trip and find out that my planes are not ready to go, which would waste your time and mine. So I would like to hold off on Saturday the 23rd and come up on Sunday the 31st, if that is good with you.
I have to say that Matt who offered to repair the POS plane I had at the last race is doing an amazing job on her. He has totally stripped the covering, beefed up the plane, clipped the wing, has recovered the wing, and is working on the body as we speak, and test run the new motor. I have to thank Matt for the offer and the job he is doing.
Thanks
James

As you get closer to the date, and have a better idea of what you want to do, and therefore the specific time you want to get there, let me know and I will ensure I get there a little early.

No worries, James . . . I completely understand. That will work out just fine. (With the 3-day weekend, that gives me plenty of opportunity to get other tasks done that weekend; and, it also gives me an extra week to try to have the wing completed, anyway.) My whole goal is to make sure you guys are able to make the most of your visit.

We will be leaving the bay area around 8am, we may stop for breakfast. We will aim to arrive between 10.30 and 11.30. I have a number for you so I will call you when we are in Galt.
Thanks

Thanks for letting me know, James. I'll plan to be there by 10:00am, then. If it appears that you are going to arrive early, for any reason, let me know and I'll get there even earlier.
Unfortunately, between returning back to work a couple of weeks ago, and having it kick my butt with so much to do; and then getting sick last week, I have been tired and completely unmotivated to build, lately. I've done nothing on the wing the last couple weeks. But I am final sanding it now, and will have it covered before the day is up. (If I am lucky, I might even get some paint on it.) I also decided to reposition some of the switch settings on my radio the last time I flew, and ended up "dumb-thumbing it" when I momentarily forgot the new positions when landing, so I ended up raising my gear when I meant to kill the throttle. So, high speed and no gear meant I slid the belly of my Fw190 quite a ways down the asphalt runway. It tore through the covering and some of the wing skin, so I need to repair that today, as well. So, lots of covering to do today . . . my least favorite modeling activity. Guess that will make tomorrow that much sweeter!
Looking forward to seeing you and Matt!

As far as I am concerned, you and Matt are part of our extended family. It is always our pleasure having you come down for a little "re-union." I'd be happy to meet you out there any other time you might wish to do it again. Thanks for making the trip, and we very much look forward to seeing you again in three weeks.
Ollie
