WWII Warbirds
#5
Dan,
I remember you asking on one of the threads if anyone builds their racers in schemes of combat WWII warbirds, rather than just racing schemes. Here is my latest:
If you are happier when they are "dull, beaten, and shot up", then you will be happy to know that it got rather beaten up on its first two maiden flights today.

Nice looking model Ollie. Yes dull, beaten and shot up does make me happy. Too bad the Corsair pictured above got shot down. Last ten inches of wing exploded in turn 2 during a practice race
at TIMPA.ORG . The manufacturer stopped the spar at the last wing joint where it swept up. Nothing but a hollow core after that. It's was an ARF so didn't know it was built like that. Spectacular
crash though. John G. was just ahead of me and though I had ran into him. I didn't, but he landed anyway just to have his wing drop out from under the P47 as it rolled to a stop??? Old model with
brittle epoxy holding the wing bolt mounts. My crash saved his plane ha ha.
