I would like to know that too. I fly in Georgetown mostly, and occasionally at the ARCA field. Have a GP Decathalon 40 with floats. Im in the process of recovering it at the moment.

do you guys have a boat??? throw the plane in the boat and make your own flying site...

if the lake has a public swimming area, ask the park rangers if you can fly there...it'll have to be in the off season...the swimmers might get in the way

rspiegel,
Are you going to teach your buddy on a float plane? FYI - I am one of the instructors at the Georgetown club, also the pres. I am also a member at the Austin club out on Decker ln just before the Exposition Center. Its been awhile since I've been to Decker lake so I'm not familiar with the layout.

When you find the place, you should be able to get there by car, but you should have a boat handy. Sometimes seaplanes do not taxi back to the bank at your feet, and it's hard to walk out to get them.

We'll just have to see if this plane respects me like my wife does. SHE thinks I can walk on water!
