Default Catalina Plans (PBY-5A)

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help with this one.

I have looked at the RCM plans (PBY-2) and have got the Nexus plans for the Catalina (PBY-2??)

I am specifically looking for the plans for a PBY-5A.

The Nexus plans are not accurate enough to convert up to a PBY-5A

Can anyone Help

Cheers
Justin

Thanx bruzer,

Would you be willing to let me have a copy of the cad files. Are you planning on putting retractable floats and undercarraige into the drawings

Yeah Id be willing to give you the cad file but it will be a while. It is going to have both retractable floats and gear and be fully amphibious. I think Im going to shoot for a wingspan of about 5 feet (60 inches). It may end ub being bigger though but definately not smaller.

That would be great, what CAD package are you using? And I have plenty time to wait, I am building a practice-run cat at the moment, so it will be a while before I can start on a new one, although if I get the plans before then I may scrap Cat-1. I am currently building a 107 inch model from the Nexus plans which seem to be for the PBY-2 and also the plans aren't accurate. If your plans are for a 60" wingspan, how difficult using CAD would it be to upsize to a 125" wingspan, which would then be as close to 1:10 scale as possible, although 1:8 or 1:6 is starting to appeal to me for an RC model

Cheers

I am trying to get a copy of Katia but if I can't get that I will be using intelli cad. scaling shouldn't be a problem although I've never done it. Yeha the way I am planning on building it I may go a little bigger because...well... just 'cause. ........looking at maybe 80''.
