Should I paint or cover the engine pod?
The directions don't tell you to do anything but it appears to be painted in the photo.
Also, the recomended CG is 3"~3 1/2" . What works best for the first time flying off of water?
Thanks,
tw

Hi,
I just left mine as it was (white) and applied the decals. I set the CG in the middle of the range and it flew with just a few clicks down elevator on the first time. Very nice flying seaplane. Does knift edge without coupling! You'll love it. I didn't even set it up for wheels.

Thanks for the tips.
So I will leave the pod natural, but what about the wooden pod assembly? Did you paint or cover it?
Not planning on putting the wheels on mine either.

Cover it.
It is also usefull to streamline the pylon, using a bit of LE & TE stock to clean up the shape. It significantly helps knife-edge flight.
The stock C-of-G location works well.
