I am haveing trouble finding a place to buy some floats to fit my Sig Kadet LT 40. What I am looking for is some thing that I can put on and take off useing the standard set up for the regular landing gear. I don't want them to be a permanent fixture. Just some thing that I can quickly change when I am going to go to the lake that day.

Yes, the link I found is [link=http://www.falcon-trading.com/]http://www.falcon-trading.com/[/link], but who ever owns it now doesn't want anybody to access it, unless they are using subdirectories only.
I found a couple of links referring to them.

Falcon Trading is NO MORE, they sold every thing out. I don't know who in the States might have a set of floats left but maybe by calling Midwest they can tell you where you can get a set. Midwest Phone # 1 800 348 3497, ask for customer service-- Ruth .

Wow! that stinks.. Modelfly / Falcon Trading floats are very well respected. I hope that the Modelfly brand will resurface in the US market. The product were/are high quality and a good value.
Apparently SIG has never gotten the "smooth floats" right. I got word yesterday that Sig sent the latest batch back because the paint was not fuel resistant. This word did not come from Sig, so consider it with a grain of salt.
That leaves ZeeDoo floats from Hobby Lobby. They have been around for years and are great performing floats, too. A little hard to add a water rudder, but my attitude toward water rudders is well documented.

Of course you can always make your own floats. http://www.flyinglindy.homestead.com/skisandfloats.html this article will show you how to fab a tricycle mount, too.
Or you can order any of a number of foam-core floats...completely preferable to the ARF floats but they require a little work.

Making floats out of foam following Chuck Cunningham's design is quite easy. I always make mine out of balsa-sheeted foam and they come out quite nicely, work well and are rugged.

I have the 60 size Zeedoo floats on my UCD3D. Here is a video.

I am sure the 40 size Zeedoo will be perfect for LT40.

I think I will give it a try on building them. Seems like I could to it for way less than buying the pree made floats. Just bought a raptor and I may hve trouble getting the wife to understand the cost of arf floats. Does not look to hard useing Chuck's plans. Makes it look easy to do. Nice U-Can do 3-D.

Jim --- I'm hoping some one in the States picks up Modelfly also, I love their planes and floats. As many as I have I may need parts someday. The planes were especially good when we were traveling as they didn't pick up hanger rash like most planes.

White foam as available at most any home improvement store is what I have used. Use a fine toothed saw with many small cuts (don't be in a hurry to make the cuts) to shape the foam and then attach the balsa and sand smooth. After the backbone is attached and all other work is done I have had success with monokote as a finishing material. Seal the edges well.
Attached are a couple of pictures of planes with floats that I have made installed. One is an 80" Midwest Extra 300XS and the other is a Balsa USA Stingray. Both planes can be changed from wheels to floats (or the other way around) in less than 5 minutes. Hopefully these are of assistance.

Going that way this weekend. Thank for the help. One of the guys I fly with has a jig that he built to help get the cut out right. Looks like it won't cost as much to just build them my self.
