Hey guy's, I'm hoping to to get a little input here on floats as I have never built or installed them. I have a 1/3 Super Decathlon that someone is interested in purchasing. He is interested in floats and would like me to assemble them. I'm not sure how many hours both these brands would take, but there sure is a price difference in the two kits. Can anyone shead some light on time to construct both of these? Thanks in advance.

Hi Carey,
I Ryan from Sea Commander. The differences are that my floats are constructed of fiberglass and are ready to mount and paint. The BUSA floats are a wood kit that has to constructed and then glassed over and painted.
Hope this helps.

Carey,
Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. Things got kinda crazy for me for a bit. I am getting reports back from guys of anywhere from about 40 hours up to 80 hours. This time includes mounting the floats to the plane and painting the floats. It really depends how much skill and experience you have under your belt. I would say the time frame would be very similar for mounting and finishing the BUSA floats, with the exception that you would have to build the BUSA floats first.
If you have any other questions maybe give me an email at work. I have several adds running here in the float plane section. Click on any of them and it will take you directly to my website and then use the email link found at the bottom of the page.
