Hope someone can help me out here. I was digging through my plans today and came across a really cool plane that I forgot I had plans for. It is a Kawanishi K8B parasol style floatplane. This plan set is for a rubber powered version and was drawn by Bill Noonan. Problem is other than the 2 sheets I have here, I cannot find any information on it. I plan on enlarging it up to at least a small gasser size. I can't even remember which plans service offered it. Plan number is FSP 06812.
Anyone out there able to help with this???
Thanks in advance
Bob

It's what the plans say. I would guess that it's older than 1932. 2 hole open cockpits, parasol style wing on floats. Call letters on the plans are J-TUTU.
Found out the plans were done in the June 1981 issue of Model Airplane News and am now trying to track down a copy of the article.

The only obscure reference to those call numbers I could find is here http://www.goldenyears.ukf.net/reg_J-3.htm
Looks like 2 were registered at some time, so it's a real aircraft,,
I've googled every possible way I can think of, I'm usually able to find it if its' there,, This one has me stumped
Good luck
Other possibility is that it a Germany or Italian design that was built by Kawanishi
p.s.
Post some pictures if you can,, Thanks

That's more info than I was able to find. I've been trying to find more info on this plane for awhile.
Here are the pictures from the article from MAN June 1981. According to the article there were 4 built/registered as a "Seaplane Transport".
I would like to get this up to about an 8 foot wing.

Back in those days the Japanese were just coping what the saw the Americans and French made work,,
That looks like a Noc-off and Modified version of a mid 20's Dewoitine, the French where the kings of Parasol Birds
Boy you found a tough one,,, can't find much on the plane, but dug around to find info on the Operator
TKG/Osaka op by NKKK (Japan Air Transport Company) was later named Japan Air Lines
source http://www.airlinehistory.co.uk/Rest...n/Airlines.asp
Aslo search
Dai Nippon Koku Kabushiki Kaisha also,(DNKKK) there are refernces to them becoming JAL
and
Nihon Koku Kabushiki Kaisha (N.K.K.K.)
Most likely the same entity
Both were civilian pre war Japaneese transport companies

I searched a lot of different ways hoping to find pictures,, but no luck
Have fun

Many thanks for the post. I am following up with the person who posted the link originally. Or at least I will once I get approval to login to the site and ask.
