RE: Esky Honeybee lipo problem

Don't think so. Just my guess.

My experience of low-voltage cutout is more gradual than what you described and will only revert when I lower throttle til the red light goes out. Also, it cuts...

RE: Esky Honeybee lipo problem

If it's because of low-voltage cutout, you should see the red light at least momentarily.

RE: Esky Honeybee lipo problem

I have had over 40 flights with my 2-cell lipo with my honey bee. No problem with cutting out. Tail trimming does drift off as the battery drains but that happens to the stock 8.4V NiMh as well.

RE: NEWBIE QUESTION ABOUT RUDDER

Try turn up the "proportional" trim on the Rx. You need to disconnect and reconnect the flight battery to make it effective. The trim setting should not be more than about 70% of full swing or it...

RE: Who ACTUALLY has a esky Honeybee 2 3d

In reply to the original post, IMHO, deciding on FP/CP is more of an all-or-nothing situation. If I go micro heli (which I did), I'd choose FP and separate direct-drive tail motor. If I go CP, I'd go...

RE: Help --Piccolo Pitching--

Sounds like the all-too-famous tail bounce people with different micro FP helis have been talking about here. It's different than rotor out-of-balance which makes the heli oscillate about 15 times...

RE: GWS Dragonfly

I've also experienced that tightening and advancing the blades totally fixed my tail bounce problem before I had my rubberband mod. The reason I know that it didn't fix the problem by its root cause...

RE: Basic Small Heli Setup Hummingbird / Dragonfly

Please note that my previous post apply to rate gyro that comes with most if not all micro helis. It doesn't apply to more expensive aftermarket standalone heading-hold gyros.

OFF TOPIC:
Yes,...

RE: GWS Dragonfly

Here's another thread with more discussion.

Advancing and tigtening the blades can very effectively remove the tail bounce, but they just prevent the blades from shifting positions too easily...

RE: Basic Small Heli Setup Hummingbird / Dragonfly

"Mixer" or "proportional" trim is to set the percentage of tail motor power in relate to the main motor power. Theoretically, if you set up this percentage right, the heli should give minimum...

RE: GWS Dragonfly

I use velcro straps to loop around certain parts of my Esky chassis to mount the battery much more forward than stock. It's better than to add weight. The first time I replaced my stock 7-cell 600...

RE: GWS Dragonfly

I've been running my FP micro heli with 2-cell Li-Pos for 30-40 charges, but I haven't had experience with 3-cell Li-Po. Two-cell Li-Po has enough voltage to hover with stock blades til the critical...

RE: GWS Dragonfly

For something as small as a micro heli, I would choose rotor-directly-on-tail-motor drive. The EDP50XC kit is cheap. The included CN12 motor is cheap to replace and lasts forever and the replacement...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

That's perfectly normal when the heli is stationary. It's called gyroscopic precession. Don't use that for calibration. Just make sure the rotating flybar plane doesn't keep changing angle by itself.

RE: Please Help Me

Maybe your throttle reverse switch on the Tx is not fully thrown into position (like halfway on)? Unplug the main motor (perhaps plug in a servo) and try both the normal and reverse positions on the...

RE: throttle cutting out

When those cheap factory tail motors start to fail a brush arm can break and wedge in random locations inside the motor and potentially create a short (or partial short) circuit even though the motor...

RE: fed up!!!

Maybe it works for some, but this method jbalat and tmophoto mentioned would not be something I recommend those who are learning to hover. To save a crash by "applying full throttle then correct"...

RE: fed up!!!

Like I've mentioned before, FMS is nowhere close to real RC model. True-flite3D is much better, though it's still not close to real models. There're way many more parameters you can set to model your...

RE: what should I start out with?

From my video here, you can see (from any part except the "zero-gyro setting" one) the vibration and gyro trying to correct the tail at 80% gain. Once I dialed out most (if not all of) the vibration,...

RE: Honey Bee tail oscillates

Update to my rubberband mod:

Although still not perfect, the newer smaller rubberbands I use now are more stealthy (especially after having them painted black:D). Check out my pics below. Notice...

RE: Esky Honey Bee

Some searches on this forum would've given you the answers.

The esky honey bee rotor hub has gone thru' an update with much beefier legs. Check out my post here for more details. If you're...

RE: what should I start out with?

From my experience, a vibration-free heli is much more important than a good gyro. Without vibration, user inputs are more acccurately reproduced in the heli. Now that I get my stock esky honey bee...

RE: Esky servos stop responding.

The stock esky servos may be of low quality but the ones on my esky, my brother's and another one are still going (knock on wood). I've put about 15 hours of flight time on mine since this summer.

RE: Honey Bee tail oscillates

Next, I need to make the mod less ugly. [&:] Maybe I'll use some much skinnier rubberbands in single-loop and perhaps paint them black. :D They aren't asserting enough force to require those thick...
