No. This is a brand new cable. I just received it yesterday. I understand that the cable could be defective but it is new and everything was working before I sent the cable in for repair/replacement.

I'm connected straight to the serial port using the interface cable that came with AFP. I can't find the cable in windows. It's not listed under game controllers.

I already did that too. It's on com port 1. Com port 3 is being used by something else. All the settings are correct on com port 1.

Yes the radio's on. I didn't have to remove the xtal any other time. I used the patch V. 1.6.8.6 as found on the Ipacs website. Yes I installed the expansion pack vol. 1.

As far as I know my tx doesn't have different modes. If it does, I've never known it and don't know how to change it. I don't remember having to change anything on the tx the first time I installed...
