Hey Joe,

There's no issue with using the Rx40 outside, just that the range is limited to about 1000'. That should be more than adequate for flying any foamy, just be aware.

RE: Tri Village R/Cers Pattern Contest, June 29-30, 2013

Rusty Doze, Dusty Rose, is there a difference?? :):):):)   I can't blame my typing, it was my brain that was dyslexic.

RE: Tri Village R/Cers Pattern Contest, June 29-30, 2013

I'm assuming Dave Snow and me, and probably Dan will make the trip hopefully.  Possible Dusty? Not sure who else may come.

RE: Tri Village R/Cers Pattern Contest, June 29-30, 2013

My son Sean and I will be there.  One of the best contests of the year in this area.  You picked a good place to make a comeback!  That said, when you're amongst the Chicago RC crowd, NEVER...

RE: 2013 Team USA Travel Donation (first week of June)

Quick update, we've raised upwards of $34,000 so far, but still a long way to go.   All the help has been greatly appreciated!!!  Go Team!

RE: 2m plane for weekend flying

I have to concur with Peter on this one.  I have a LOT of airplanes and Heli's and it's the Pattern plane that see's 95% of the usage.  That said, I also fly FAI and I"ve been "hooked" for some time...

RE: Two 5s packs or 1- 10s pack

Actually I charge all of my 5s packs in pairs AS a 10s pack.  Most of the popular pattern chargers will handle 10s packs straight up and more in parallel.

RE: Two 5s packs or 1- 10s pack

I find more pro's to the 2 5s packs, though I run both.  The two big advantages that I see to owning and running 5s packs is A) I can use them in 5s airplanes (62" Osiris for example which my son...

RE: Sd-10g. Airtronics

Hey Jeff,

Need more info I guess.  No, I've never had that issue.  Not sure I know where to tell you start debugging.  Are you sure you have the channels assigned correctly?

RE: SD-10G stick alignment

I can't help with the stick alignment, but I can tell you that there was a hardware/firmware upgrade to the RF section in 2011 to fix an issue with the FHSS-1 receivers in saturated environments. ...

RE: I love my RDS8000

I've been a fan for a very long time for similar reasons.  They do what we need them to do, and then some.  As an SD10 owner (and RD8000 as well) I can tell you the SD10 only raises the bar.

RE: thinking about a dog - impact on contests?

Talk to Dave Snow... I don't think I've ever seen him at the field or a contest without Lonnie, or several Goldens before that (Don't recall their names).  The dogs themselves are always well behaved...

I think the person asking the original question is using an online translator, so I've been trying to keep the answers simple.

The Honda Generator is VERY quiet.   It is expensive because it is...

RE: SD10G: Stick sensitivity as a mix?

Hey Joe,

I saw that post, referring to the 9C or MZ radios.  No, the SD-10 does not support that.  I'm not sure I know of any other radio that will.  It's a interesting idea though.

RE: charger

The Generator is lighter.  Easier to transport.  Provides unlimited power with only a little gas.   Will last for many many years too.

A marine battery is very heavy to transport and move. ...

RE: Help with identification

Not a kaos for sure, but I don't think it's a phoenix either. Almost looks like an old Taurus without the canopy.

RE: I may have discovered my flying style through a simulator...is it possible?

If you're truly interested in a good "Kit" pattern plane I would see if someone has a Black Magic kit they can sell you. It's a design from about 2007, but would hold up in all but the FAI class of...

RE: SD-10G making a buzzing noise

Buzzing noise?? From the Tx?? I'd be careful. I've never seen/heard anything like that. There's no powered moving parts...so it's not like something could be loose or vibrating. It's got to be a...

RE: Airtronics sd-10g-super OR Futaba 8fg

The servo issues is simply a truth in advertising issue.  The reality is that a lot of analog servos work just fine with the FHSS-3 Rx's (10ch and now a new 6 & 8ch FHSS-3 Rx also).  What's more, the...
