TXT wheels are stronger, larger drive pins and more webbing on the back side.

You can use clod drive hubs for txt wheels if drive pin holes are drilled out to 9/32"

I ran 15, 17, and 19 turn motors with that esc, 17 turn was my favorite.
Stock motors on a 2s lipo will do 11mph, 17 turn Atomic Fireballs will do 17mph on a 2s lipo.
(stock gearing and tires)

The biggest problem I had with the boomerang was the steering, it uses a sliding "rack" that is made of plastic, that would get clogged up with dirt and sand etc.

The B4 is much better...

Will Lipo be ok at -25 C (about -10 F) ?
Thats usually the coldest I run in, as long as I can stay out of the wind.

Maybe its time to upgrade:D

I have a Clodbuster with a Novak Super Rooster and dual 17T speedgem motors.
Its used in the snow, otherwise I'd go with Lipo, but have been told Lipo doesn't like cold temps.

To each his own,
just showing you can drive in snow with a truck, if you watch the whole video you can see it does turn, and yes you do have to crawl sometimes.

I agree its not for everyone,...

Sand paws don't require foam inserts, they use very hard rubber.

Yes you can,
You have to go slow when its real deep and soft, watch your throttle control or it will just dig in.
Some times you have to drive back and forth to pack the snow in some area's,...

Sounds like the ESC got wet inside,
you could also try connecting the ESC to the steering channel to verify(make sure wheels are off ground),
but it doesn't sound good for the ESC[:o]

It won't be your battery,
the only thing I run my clod in is snow, don't have to cover the batteries.

I would suspect your esc, if you have another reciever to try it with then you can verify...
