RE: Fail safe on AR7000

Marc,

That's the way it's supposed to work. Only the throttle goes to the preset bind position. Everything else goes to the last known "good" position when the link is lost.

RE: DX7 and AR7000 won't bind

Gary,

Before you proceed with testing your plane, be sure that your battery is big enough for your model. A lot of people are using batteries that are too small for the aircraft they are...

RE: spektrum dx3.0 GLICHING?????

Bottom Line: It just isn't going to work with dead batteries.

The voltage protector is a simple capacitor that smooths out spikes in the voltage the receiver is looking at. If the batteries are...

RE: AR9000 Problem

Rich,

I'm glad to hear they're taking care of you. I seem to remember a fellow from Canada posted a real similar issue on here about 2 weeks ago...

RE: Battery scare

You're right Tim,

I zoned in on the battery issue and missed that part. That does explain a lot about getting it back on the ground.

RE: Battery scare

Nick,

You got pretty luck there. They've been batting this issue around RCU for the last few months now. Low voltage resets the receiver, then it has to relink (anywhere from 1 sec to several...

RE: AR9000 Problem

Richard,

First, check to make sure that all your connections are good going to the satellites. Try unplugging the bad satellite's cable and plugging it back in, and check for bent pins when you...

RE: AR7000 Satellite Failure Mode

I think we'll have to agree to disagree there.

A power blip should never occur on a properly designed system, but this is the real world, and stuff happens, either due to hardware failure or...

RE: AR7000 Satellite Failure Mode

Again, I agree. My issue revolves around this: If for some reason the satellite receiver fails in-flight, all it will take is ONE TINY LITTLE BLIP to reset the receiver, and it's over. I'm not...

RE: AR7000 Satellite Failure Mode

Thanks Danny, and I agree 100% with you. I would have designed it the same way. Power up diagnostics are important for any piece of equipment. The problem is, the system goes into a hard lockout,...

AR7000 Satellite Failure Mode

I was going to reply in another Spektrum thread with this, but feel it should be started new... I finally got around to doing some testing of my own with the AR7000 satellite receiver afer reading a...

RE: 2.4ghz technology

Joe,

There is a pretty long and detailed thread about the Spektrum DX7, and a few other forums that are very informative if you're interested. Search for "Spektrum DX7" and you should find them....

RE: problem with OS 46 AX

Dar,

I wasn't scared, I was annoyed. Nobody here seems to have read my post in it's entirety, so I deleted it. This is a common problem here on RCU, and is the reason why the number next to my...

RE: AR7000 won't bind

Yes, That is what I was doing too... I wanted to see what would happen if there was no satellite. I would think that the system would not connect without the satellite attached at power-up. This...

RE: AR7000 won't bind

That sounds like a LINKING problem, not a BINDING problem. If both the satellite and main receivers don't lock on at power up, the system won't work.

Check to make sure the patch cable that...

RE: AR7000 won't bind

Danny,

We also need to rebind if significant trim changes are made to throttle, or servos are reversed. There always seems to be some confusion regarding this.

Does the receiver store...

RE: Futaba fasst 2.4ghz signal loss

Jeff,

What was your setup like? Where was stuff located, how were the antennas oriented? Seeing that you are a seasoned pilot, this might be something more than a battery issue. Please see my...

RE: DX 7 Binding question

Fred,

Rebinding after you set up the plane is pretty important. For example, if you reversed the direction of any servos, binding takes care of setting up the failsafe for the position the...

RE: Futaba fasst 2.4ghz signal loss

Jeff,

I think everyone here can agree on the importance of adequate battery power, but how was your receiver installed, where did you have the antennas located? When you fly, do you point the...

RE: DX7 / AR7000 problem (reproducible loss of signal)

Jim,

There has been some talk about connection issues at very close ranges, and at long ranges. I believe the reason for the long distance connection issue is this:

Spektrum uses multiple...

RE: 2.4 GHz - A Broad Market Review

How spread spectrum for RC works:

There are no "Channels" in the 2.4 Ghz Band. The 2.4 band is just an allocation where manufacturers can put their equipment. The number of channels available...

RE: Futaba fasst 2.4ghz signal loss

It really depends on what type of tester you have. Some do put a load on the battery, most do not.

Also, you need to make sure the battery was put into service properly. A new pack needs to be...

RE: Futaba fasst 2.4ghz signal loss

There are hundreds of these systems in use, and many satisfied pilots. I'm a Spektrum flyer myself, and have not had a single problem to date, with likely well over 100 flights at multiple flying...

RE: Spektrum DX7

The number for your full charge voltage looks okay, but then it looks like things drop off pretty fast. There must be something wrong with your pack. When I fly, the voltage is usually 5.4 for the...
