RE: Rcmk rear exhaust

Daniel. It does not effectively or actually change the TDC position. There will be a very small change to the ignition timing which is unlikely to change the performance at all, but considering the...

RE: ***Introducing the R/C Boat World Championship Series***

I absolutely agree, to call it a World Championship is ingenuous at best and at worst I don't want to say. Just because other American series are called World championships does not make it right,...

RE: steps boat that I design in 2009

CKY what is the purpose of the steps, better cornering? less chance of diving in the corners?

RE: what boat is this can anyone help and give me some information

That is an old Racing Models or MRH hull and it looks like an early Picco 21 in it. I would think that it is not worth much money these days.

RE: sigma 51 version 2

V1 Sigmas do not oversteer unless as I once saw someone had pulled the rails in because the engine mount need spacing washers between it and the rails. A Patron Saint hull is not the same as a Sigma...

RE: Pipes

I don't have any Makara moulds. Paul Firmin would probably cut his right arm off before he would sell them to me. ;)
Makara looks to me like an Apache 57 but with a longer hatch for ease of...

RE: steps boat that I design in 2009

Chan,
It is good to see someone working with an original idea rather than a clone or modified clone. Good luck.

RE: steps boat that I design in 2009

Chan, I think that would be a backward step.

Henk, I did not say the motor could not be modded, just said the the disc timing was acceptable. I modded my motor before I ran it. [8D]

RE: steps boat that I design in 2009

Henk,
Stock disc timing on CMB27 is 29 ABDC 64 ATDC. Good enough for 87 kph in my T6 FSRV boat when testing yesterday. Crazy speed for a 27cc FSRV boat.
Will test Sigma 2 with CMB...

RE: RE:27cc CMB engine

Henk,
The Selletra seems to work OK although I have used the Powerspark on my CMB27. I had to make my own flywheel and pickup mounting which was not too difficult.

RE: SIGMA 51 WITH ZENOAH MOTOR

Wow Henk, That is some statement considering I've sold Sigmas into more than 30 different countries. The best prop EVER tested?

See you at the race in Holland next month.

RE: Submerged prop lean?

I would assume pic 3 was legal but I only abide by the rules and do not enforce them. A boat like that would have zero chance of being competitive in FSRV racing but if you like to do something...

RE: Submerged prop lean?

George. I guess its only the prop that has to be below the waterline in FSRV.
Problem with submerged drive FSRV style is that there is tremendous torque from the prop affecting the hull, which...

RE: Submerged prop lean?

Ian, A prop running behind the transom is considered to be surface piercing and is not below the waterline.

RE: SCAM FORUM IN UK

I don't have a dog in this fight but this guy Dineshee asked me a question on Ebay to which I replied "Sorry, No". I thought that was an unusually polite answer from me [8D] but he then went on to...

RE: Pacer 70 build (from Big Tee Racing)

Thats correct. The 6717/3 will load the motor more than the 7015/3 and so rpm will be lower and hence pipe length has to be longer. The 7015/3 will work best on your boat for normal running.

RE: Pacer 70 build (from Big Tee Racing)

ZEN7 and 7015/3 is ca 345mm to start and using a 6717/3 in anything other than a light smallish boat would need a longer pipe length. A ZEN7 is perfectly capable of pushing a big boat.

RE: Pacer 70 build (from Big Tee Racing)

The instructions say 330mm to 345mm and so you should start at the longer length 345mm, not the shorter [8D] but if you try to use that huge propeller then the pipe length should be even longer....

Thanks for your help, very much appreciated as always. That all makes sense, I now have an idea of what props to try out. What do you mean by a barr cut and cupped? I dont think this is...

RE: Pacer 70 build (from Big Tee Racing)

7015/2 and 7015/3 have very similar characteristics in terms of how the hull handles but the 7015/2 lets my motor unload a bit more which I like because I run my motor over 20,000 rpm.
