RE: Decent car for a 10 year old?

RC is a great hobby to get a kid into. It is safe, will keep him busy, is reasonably inexpensive compared to many hobbies, and it will teach him some mechanical skills and responsibility. For a 10...

RE: how to keep faskolor from peeling/chipping?

I always let my last coat dry then spray a layer of fascoat to help protect the paint. Works great.

RE: Nitro or Electric ! Frustrating or Comforting ?

Topic has been covered many many times on this forum. Search for "nitro vs electric" and you will find tons of posts.

With Lipos and brushless motors power isn't an issue with either one. Nitros...

RE: One way bearing always covered in oil

What fuel are you using? I was originally using "blue thunder" and was having OWBs slip all the time. Eventually someone told me it could be the dye in the fuel and once I switched fuel I haven't had...

RE: superchargers

You are right in that a lot of sleds and quads are boosted. However, there are more than one type of 2-stroke engine design.

The issue with the standard piston port design is that the exhaust...

RE: superchargers

RCU does have a search button... Just FYI...

Like 378 says, a SC won't work on these types of engines because there are no exhaust valves to build up pressure against. All you end up doing is...

RE: Does Nitro Make Your Hands Itch?

As suggested above, it's totally possible that you are allergic to some component of nitro fuel.

Vinyl rubber gloves are cheap and effective.

RE: Why do they keep making Traxxas trucks?

Because people buy them... Why does any business make a product...

Also, I am assuming that you are talking about the reliant robin... They don't actually roll that much, that was just some Top...

RE: .28 in a funfactor? oh dear....

My .28 CEN is still one of my favourite RC's and still gets used more often than any of the others. It's wicked fast and I haven't broken any parts in forever.

Thanks to all of you guys for...

RE: magnum nx info

Since no one else answered I'll give you a bit of info.

Short version: The spurs from any of cen's 1/10 scale MTs buggies and rally cars will work.

Long version: All of CEN's 1/10 scale...

RE: When is it too cold for a nitro RC?

The Engines are fine in almost any temp as long as the cooling head is protected. Either use a body that doesn't have any holes or by insulating the cooling head.

The only problem is that the...

RE: help

Obviously you want to get all of the dirt and sand out of any moving parts. You can do it by wrapping the engine and electronics in plastic and patiently spraying it with water from a squirt bottle...

RE: 2 Stroke Double the power?

2 strokes are cheaper and rev higher since they don't need any valves or a cam and they fire every time they hit TDC. In small engines they also generally use simpler carburetors.

4 strokes are...

RE: Breaking in and Running Nitro in the cold

30 F is not cold. Nitros CAN be run in much colder ambient than that. But like others have said, it is critical that the engine does get up to it's specified operating temperature. In the ballpark of...

RE: can you put a weed eater engine in a 1/8 car

It can be done, but don't just expect to buy a kit to make it fit. You will need to fabricate some parts.

RE: Cold Servo?

Did you leave your battery pack outside? If you did, that is likely what the problem was. Most electronics love cold temps because it reduces resistance (if it's not too humid), but batteries don't...
