RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I'm modifying mine to accept cheap hobbico mechanical retracts, a single retract servo for the mains and a standard servo to retract nose gear. No need to go air. Am anti-air retracts. Not that they...

Nitro models Low wing .40

I assisted a friend to build his Nitro Models Low Wing .40 trainer. Lots of pros and cons. The cons could kill this company though. It's like going to a restaurant with great service, great prices,...

RE: Patriot related

I've been asked to share my JATO unit set-up on my Patriots. I am writing an article on this but figured I would share this with this forum.
It's a very simple set-up. I have re-drawn the...

RE: Patriot and Mechanical retracts

Very nice work. The reason I did all of the bending was due to the servo rotating more than 180 degrees on radios that did not have servo trim adjustment. When I converted over to computer...

RE: Patriot and Mechanical retracts

I use 100% mechanical. I've used Hobbico 40 size, Spectra, and another brand I can't remember the name of. Didn't really matter, they are all basically same exact design. I use low profile retract...

RE: Patriot and Mechanical retracts

Jim,
I know this posting is a bit late but wanted to offer any help I could. I've built 4 of the original Patriots, all with mechanical retracts. Once you get it down, it's not too hard to figure...

RE: Patriot Dicontinued again!!??

I read all of the posts and all had good advice. One huge thing missing though.... what percentage of nitro are you running? With a 10 X 7 prop, my YS turns 13,700 with 5%, 14,700 with 15%, and...

RE: AVOID THIS ENGINE AT ALL COST!!!!!

Bill,
I am somewhat new to the "Universe" but have been flying, building, and teaching for nearly 20 years. I do recommend the VMAR planes with a couple of side notes and highly recommend the...

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

About the only way to correct this would be to elongate the dowel holes up in front and filet some epoxy mixed with micro balloons into the wing saddle to fill the gap. I may try this later, but as...

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

Tom,
With the requirement of up elevator on mine and yours, I'm wondering if there is a problem with the wing incidence. Would be interesting to hear if others are having the same issue.

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

Tom,
When I added 10 degrees of flaps, my nose pitched up pretty good. Luckily didn't have the same thing happen as yours did. Didn't try full flaps though. Congratulations on your maiden flights....

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

My first thoughts of the rear tank were to do as you have done, mount it the same direction as the front. After checking the fit though is when I noticed the angle of the tank. Figuring the people...

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

Not sure why you want to turn the rear tank around. The way mine fit, the tank was slanted with the butt end (opposite the stopper end) being about 1 inch lower than the stopper end. Even during a...

RE: patriot questions

I have the same engine and pipe on my Patriot and run a 10 X 6 APC with 15% Powermaster. Turns the prop around 14,800 RPM. Can get around 15,500 RPM with 25%.
This is my third Patriot and still...

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

Thanks for the info. Didn't think it would be low enough so didn't bother to try. Will do this and throw a strip of monokote across the stab to cover it up.

RE: KMP Cessna Skymaster

The windows I received looked fine but did not fit at all. Holes were all too small. The air induction on top of the wing is 1/4" too high so there's a lip. Those were really the only two general...

RE: KMP 337 Skymaster In The House!!!

Wow, just read most of the postings to this 337 but not surprised by some. Returning to RC Universe after a long time hiatus.
First, I have my KMP about 90% complete. A typical large scale ARF...
