RE: AeroAce Quad

I don't see why not. But adding up the cost of the parts of aeroacemods gives me $34 + shipping, for a $35 plane. Easy enough just to buy 2 planes at the store--then you get a spare tail and...

RE: AeroAce Quad

I need to post a more recent photo of the plane--My final solution has the lower wing removed, and the upper wing extended by an inch or 2. So there's not a bottom wing to attach them to anymore :) ...

RE: AeroAce Quad

Just realized you might be asking how many hours I've used it, not what the battery life is. I think It's probably been in the air for 3 hours or so. I really haven't messed with it in the last few...

RE: AeroAce Quad

Flight time is pretty much the same as the standard AA, about 15 minutes.

RE: AeroAce Quad

Not really :) You can replicate what I did, but mine isn't necessarily the best solution. You'll just have to experiment a bit. My plane looks like a mess because of all the changes I've made.

RE: AeroAce Quad

There is no lower wing anymore, the photos above are from earlier versions of the plane. As I posted before, the final version has a removed lower wing, and slightly extended upper wing. I found...

RE: AeroAce Quad

I don't think I'm even close to a 1:1 thrust/weight ratio, even if I took out the extra rx and battery. This isn't a helicopter people :)

RE: AeroAce Quad

No, there isn't enough thrust to go vertical. You have to remember that while it has twice the power, it also has twice the weight.

RE: AeroAce Quad

I don't know of a way to do that, no.

If you'll click the "post reply" button at the bottom of the last response it will take you to a more 'full featured' reply page. Right below the text box for your reply on that page is a text link...

RE: E-SKY LAMA 2 THREAD

Half charged is the shipping state of choice I believe. Don't want them empty as that's a dangerous state, and ditto for full (the danger is in them potentially being a little undercharged or a...

RE: Help sxates build a slowstick for AP

My camera (IS-DV) is about 5-6oz, and the SS doesn't have much trouble lifting it. There's definitely a difference in the flight characteristics (it'll gain altitude very quickly with no extra...

RE: Aerobird Xtreme inflight

I have an Aiptek IS-DV with a 512 SD card. I think my SD card has gone bad though, as I can't record more than about a minute without the file being corrupted when it's written--gotta work on...

RE: Blade CX

You'll probably get more responses from the helicopter sections, but I'll impart what i know :) The CX is a good one--the CP will be very difficult for someone who has not had another helicopter,...

RE: AeroAce Quad

You probably could, but really I think the added weight actually benefits the plane when it speeds up. Because your elevator control is based on throttle, and not flaps, if it's too light it just...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

I've doubled my motors on mine. You can read my development log over in the AeroAce Quad thread:

RE: E-SKY LAMA 2 THREAD

If the heli is rotating clockwise, turn the pot clockwise. If counter clockwise, adjust counterclockwise. A very fine adjustment goes a long way.

RE: Installing Standard Electronics In An Extreme

If you went ahead and got a brushless motor your existing battery would likely be adequate. I don't know about running lipo's in parallel, but it would make me a little nervous to do it.

Make sure you're charging the batteries on the 7.4v port, not the 11!

RE: E-SKY LAMA 2 THREAD

I'm interested in upgrading my Lama2. It's a little twitchy and it has a hard time easily maintaining altitude. What could I replace that would have the greatest performance benefit? The 4-in-1? ...
