RE: *GP Giant Aeromaster $100.00 Off*

Jim,
Do you think a Brillelli 60cc would be too much for this plane.
Could you tell me a little more about it's flying caharacteristics.
Thanks

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

Here's an idea.

A lot of guys in the Toronto area have been ordering DL 50's. They are significantly less expensive than DA 50's and according to the guys that own them, they are very good...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

I used two servo's per wing half, although I know guys have used only one. I believe they used the outer hole

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

I'm happy with the 180, however I have another project in mind and am thinking about a Brillelli. How do you like these engines?

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

Yes, it is 18X6 carbon fibre prop. Very quiet, however I have not used that prop for my initial flights, too expensive.
I have a track record of being a little tough on my prop's when first getting...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

I bought the MPI on-board glow system which has a manual override so I keep the glow on throughout the flight. I will switch to the position where it only comes on at low throttle, but not until I...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

1Vertol,
According to Perry you do not need muffler pressure as well, I think that would be too much and you probably would have a flooded engine.
The pump is good if your fuel travels a longer...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

1Vertol,

No, I do not use any muffler pressure

The pressure tap on the muffler has been replaced with the same size plug, I have it epoxied in with a product called JB Weld, the stuff is...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

1Vertol,
Emvins post is on the QQ 73" thread.
I used Perry pump VP-30.
the line from the engine pressure tap to the pump is as short as possible, in the line I have a connector, with the third...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

1vertol,
I got a little booklet with my Saito 180, and on page 14 it lists reccomended prop's sizes and rpm"s.
I use a Zinger 18X6 and it was truning 9,000 rpm.
The engine range is 2,000 to...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

1Vertol,

I use 30%, with the high speed needle out 2 1/2 to 3 turns. I get 9,000 rpm with an 18X 6 prop.
I also keep the on-board glow on and use a VP30 perry pump, if that helps.

Fly's...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

1Vertol,

The plane itself is very easy to fly, just use the reccomended low rates to start with.
I would keep the on-board glow on throughout the flight, and set the idle a little higher.

This weekend is the big hobby show in Toronto, so I will probably do a little damage on my credit card.

We had a relatively new member at the...

I will let you know how much power the Saito 180 provides once I get it in the air. Maybe this weekend.

He has a Saito 180...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

You might also try Bisson Mufflers. I think they are in Canada, however they make Pitts style mufflers for a wide range of engines.
You can probably get their contact info off the...

RE: Goldberg YAK 54 - 77"

No, I don't think a Saito 220 would be overkill. However, I did see a video of this plane being flown with a DA50 on You tube. Looked okay from the video, awesome pull out power. Although I would be...
