so cal glider guy thinks that the faa has no jurisdiction over models...well, i think otherwise and here is my experience. in 2001 i sought an altitude waiver from chino airport so we could host an...

RE: goldberg su26

wow, this is interesting. i built two cgm suhkois, the first was stock with a webra 1.2, the second was lightened with a ys 1.2 and a bolly 16/8, and tipped the scales a 9.5lbs. It could easily do...

RE: worth spending $110 to save a 1lb?

what prop are you running?

altitude above sea level?

if it is worth $100 to have your airplane fly like it does when it is almost out of fuel, than spend the money, because that's more or...

RE: Intermediate sequence question

no, the lines do not have to be of equal lengths....the only time they do is when the length of the line is critical to the geometry of the figure..such a square loop, diamond loop, etc.

have...

RE: Practice With the Simulator?

in the lower classes it is often helpful for the caller to describe the complete figure; however the pilot must be fluent enough in the lingo to understand that a reverse anything enters on the 45. ...

RE: 29% AIR WILD Extra 260 ?

RTK...one of the reasons that the elev servos are in front of the stabs is to help balance the airplane with lighter engines like the 55. looking at the bme site, it looks like the 55 will need...

RE: 29% AIR WILD Extra 260 ?

okay, J here goes. there is nothing unusual about the build - just careful consideration of keeping it light. Simple things like tailwheels, spinners, batteries, and props can add/remove a lot of...

RE: 29% AIR WILD Extra 260 ?

RE: 29% AIR WILD Extra 260 ?

I wrote/took pictures for the original two threads on RCU, but have since given the airplane back to Jerry. I put a few flights on it and can speak intelligently about what it can do. To address...

RE: New 29% AirWild Extra 260, anybody got one yet?

Good to see that the airplane is getting attention. Having actually flown the airplane I can safely say that the elevator (which is about 40% of the total surface area) is very effective, as is the...

RE: Pitts/Fuji 50

18 seems pretty small diameter for a 45 cc engine. Gassers don't have top end, they do have lots of torque, so they can be loaded down and still deliver lots of punch. I haven't used a Zinger in...
