Just as followup.... motor is now fixed and running great. Solution (thanks to dabid_van over at ultimaterc) was to just use JB weld on the shaft. I let it dry/cure the full 24 hours... and it is...

Yes, unfortunately I did pay for it :(.. and probably more than it's worth. I took a look at some e-flites but this doesn't seem to totally match one of those either (caps are in the wrong place)...

Could this be some E-FLITE esc? It seems quite similar to an E-FLite 20a ...but i'm not sure what one of those looks like with the jacket off.

That hyper7 conversion is definitely worth exploring :) Fugaziiv: on that tranny rebuild for the XXXT, any in particular you did as far as replacement gears? Did that also need all metal gears...

Hmm... the strange thing is I wasn't getting any wheelies on the buggies, using 18/87 gearing and 1500mah battery.. sure the front wheels seemed to be not totally touching the pavement upon hitting...
