The instructions that came with the engine say to mount the tank approximately centered on the carb. The engine is supposed to have pressurized fuel delivery.

As a sort of update, NE-Aero is still listing the Super Duelist (http://ne-aero.com/superduelist.aspx) (their spelling) on their web site, but not selling it.

If you can work out the weight and balance issue, I'd say take a look at a pair of new YS-110's. Lot's of power, but somewhat weighty.

How about some classic stripe, or the Beechcraft bird, or something like that? It might have to echo the angle of your color change line behind the canopy.

The blue silicone isn't the best choice since it's less fuel resistant than the red automotive type. Cost is about the same, but the red will be more resistant to fuel deterioration.

Have the principals of the Super Duellist project considered making plan copies available so that interested folks could have kits cut by one of the model balsa cutters?
