Hovering flight

No matter how short of a time you plan on being in hovering flight, you will want and need full control of the model. In the 5 seconds you are talking about, the model is going to have to accelerate...

Osprey

Nothing is impossible, but there are some difficulties to overcome. Suitable power plants are the first. Static thrust would have to exceed aircraft weight by a considerable margin for a vertical...

Foam plug question

Let's say you want to make a foam plug to mold a fuselage. If you cut each section of the fuse between the templates, you end up with a series of straight lines instead of a smooth curve. I can't...

2 tank setup

My first try would be to have your 2 main tanks feeding a header tank near the engine. You might be able to use muffler pressure to provide adequate flow to the header tank from the main tanks. One...

TX module

That should work out just fine. I remove the TX module from my JR 783 when using it with RF. Extends battery life, and is better for the transmitter when the antenna is collapsed.

Making spinners

I recall a while back hearing of an article in one of the mags about making your own spinners. Anyone tried this? I'd like to make some custom spinners for a P-38 I have. Thanks guys!

Warbirds only

I second the idea of a warbirds-only addon. I don't really care much for a CD full of choppers and sailplanes I'll never fly. Wish they would open up the format to allow users to create and share...

Similar issue

I have a JR 783 that I had a similar issue with. Went through every page of my manual and hit upon something in the sailplane radio config section. In my case it had to do with how the servo arms...

ME-262

Without a doubt my favorite would have to be the ME-262. Almost tied for first is the Hellcat, after that it is a toss-up. Best sound I've ever heard was standing right next to the runway at LOT...

Magnetic attraction??

Several years back a friend and I were just wrapping up a fun afternoon of flying our planes. This guy pulls up to the field and unloads a brand new ARF. He says this is his first plane, we ask if...

Not quite a crash...

Well, you'd think that I had enough sense to move it after that, but I didn't. About a month later I gave it a toss, once again hitting the switch on the receiver. This time the engine quite about...

Not quite a crash...

My most memorable near miss was about 10 years ago with a Goldberg Sophisticated Lady. I used to live in Maine right by the ocean, so a nearby beach and cove was the only large open area without...

Source for leader

Where are you finding your fishing leader? Been to a couple fishing/hunting shops nearby, they only carry pre-cut leader, no rolls or such. Even tried Walmart in desperation, still no luck. Thanks...

Aluminum spar channel...where to get them?

I'm working on a 100" P-38, foam core wings sheeted with balsa. The spars are aluminum and slide into ply spar boxes. The boxes are constructed of 1/8" a/c ply and wrapped in kevlar attached with 2...
