RE: R and D

A plug and play tunnel for a single ks 1090 would be nice in your 35% Extra, whether it be a 260 or 300.

RE: 35% Extra Build

Tom,
Would it be possible to put a single KS 1090 in one of these? obviously the tunnel would need to be modified, but how much is in the way behind the factory tunnel?

RE: Servo Chatter JR8711

I have no extension and it chatters in other channels as well. One thing I noticed is if I trim the radio all the way left or right it stops. It might just be the spring tension from my tail wheel...

RE: Servo Chatter JR8711

I have an 8711 doing the same thing it is on my rudder plugged directly into the receiver. I have tried 4.8 volts to 6.5 volts same problem. I haven't tried plugging it into a different channel but...

RE: new design: Strega 45

I second that, maybe we could save on shipping to get two in the USA.

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Ken,
What header are you going with? Mine is also a bit "peaky". Have you tried loading the engine a bit more with a 27x10? That is my plan, but I still have more breaking in to do.

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Well I snuck out to the field and got in one flight before my cell phone rang. My DA 85 ran very good the entire flight. I kept it up pretty high, I'm still a little shell shocked from the two dead...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I have DXF files for the outside and inside shapes. You are welcome to them. don't be surprised if a shop wants $150.00+ per piece for a short run. There is probably at least $20.00 in aluminum...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Well I managed two brief flights today, both ended in a dead stick after about two minutes. The airplane came down safely. I tracked the problem to a regulator switch wired incorrectly delivering 7.5...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Here is my throttle servo mount, sorry about the picture quality. I was having problems getting enough light for a good picture.
It's basically just a box made out of 1/8" ply with the bottom of...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

It turns out it's a 2-56 just a bit sloppy. I was using a metric screw by mistake it threaded in perfectly, but wouldn't go through the ball. I brought my camera to work today, but I forgot my USB....

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I did my pre balance last night. I was very pleased to have the batteries under the wing tube. I thought for sure I would need them in the nose. They must be coming out a little nose heavy with the...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Ken,
Am I supposed to use the long all thread Rod for the rudder horns or the short one. I'm guessing the long. Also what's the final verdict on cuting a hole in the fire wall?

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Not much about 3/8" I think. I know that some of the other kit manufacturers are recomending cutting out the fire wall for the 85. There is quite a few engine mount sugestions for the 85 on FG. I...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Made a little progress last night, here are some pics as promised. I didn't have to modify the tunel because I shortened the header. You could leave it the full 12" and cut a hole at the back of the...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I got the 85 and can put in mine last night. I had to cut away the intire air scoop that was molded in the cowl. I'm using a rear dump KS so I opened up the bottom of the fuse at the back of the...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I got mine today. It arrived unharmed. Very well packed and well made, I wish I had orded my other stuff sooner. I guess I can put stickers on it, control horns and ELE servo's. The rest will be here...

RE: QQ Yak 102" ???

I also have a gen 2, If you don't have the nose up high enough it rocks. You need to keep it in the sweet spot maybe 60-70 degrees. Also having a neutral CG helps a ton.

RE: PAU New 36% Edge 540

Da recomends a 10"-12" header for the 85. How much room does that leave for a canister without modification?

RE: 120" Yak questions

I have heated and bent K&S SS headers with no problem. I bolted the header to a steel block and held it in a vice. I didn't want to put that much force on my cylinders. I tried to heat as much of the...

RE: 120" Yak questions

Are the Greeves quiet? My club has a 98 DB rule or would I be better off with canisters?
