RE: Hangar 9 Cub what engine

I've used a Saito 150 and a G 23 with great luck. I am flying at 2000 to 4000 feet and am happy with both.

RE: Pink or Blue Foam for Floats, or white?

Try pink or blue foam cut to shape, add a strongback (spine) to secure nylon mounting blocks. Cover the foam with med. glass cloth and epoxy. I have used these for over 25 years and have had great...

RE: Which cub to buy

I have had many Cubs, Two Sig J3's and one Clipped wing. I like the clipped wing the best of the Sig Cubs. Had one GP, was not at all impressed. Have H9 Super Cub and J3. No doubt they are the best,...

RE: Help with Gee Bee floats - Filling with foam

I have been float flying for over 30 years. You can always spot a newby to floats by their GeeBee floats. The only way they work is on a very lightly loaded, overpowered plane. Do yourself a favor...

RE: Sig rascal 40.. on floats

Not at all, I have used that setup for almost 20 years. As I stated, I am using the Slocan Floats also previously called Super Floats and the are designed for this setup. They are bullet proof.

RE: stinger 120 questions

I know you are looking at a gas engine for your 120 Stinger but consider this. I have had several and found that they will fly quite well on an OS 108, and any four stroke 120 or 150. I have also...

RE: Sig rascal 40.. on floats

I am setting my Rascal up with the Slocan Floats which I use almost exclusively. I went with the 38" floats, which are a tad short, but will work well because of the light wing loading. These float...

RE: Sig rascal 110?

I decided to use my Saito 150 in my Rascal. It is fast at half throttle, I may power it down. It will float forever in a slight headwind and all in all is a GREAT airplane.

RE: Sig rascal 110?

I do have the best of both worlds. The 110 is in the box and the Monocoupe w/ G23 is ready for a test hop. I also have the H9 T.Craft w/ OS160, two Cubs one J3 and one Super W/150's and a 28%...

RE: Hangar 9 Cub vs Great Planes Cub

Good choice you won't be sorry. I fly mine with a Saito 150. It will cruise at a scale speed at just under 1/2 throttle. I like the 150 for take offs in tall grass but I think a good 120 will work.

RE: Great Planes J3 ARF

I have a GP Cub. I didn't glass the center section. The wing joiner broke when I hooked a wing in the water. This was a very low speed impact that happened while taxing and a wing gust hit the plane....

RE: anybody ever heard of a PT-19 WWII trainer on floats ???

I saw a Hanger 9 PT 19 on floats last summer, on the Columbia River at Entiat WA. It flew very well. I just wish I had taken a picture so I could remember how he mounted them.
