RE: best place to order octura props

I get all of mine from www.offshoreelectrics.com
With the conversion of the USD to the AUD at the moment, they are great value for your coin, you should see them within 7-14 days, usually around...

RE: Hull Design Drawings

Have a look in SV27Dayton's thread on the stepped cat, alloutcustom has a picture of his version of plans in there. You can then take it to a print shop and get it blown up to desired size, well...

RE: Hull Design Drawings

There are a few different plans at www.modelpowerboat.com you will need to register to be able to obtain the free plans.
No cats, it seems they are quite hard to come by, however there are a few...

RE: Equipage Monaco 100 (build thoughts)

If it is scale speed you are after, most guys are putting speed 700's in them. I run a Johnson 785 motor in my smaller riviera and it goes like a cut cat on 14 cells.
Then again, if you want to go...

RE: Want to Run 50 to 60!!!!!!!!

What are your building skills like?? You could build yourself a predator rigger, there are a couple of threads floating around in here, some guys recently completed them and they seem to go quite...

RE: Mini Wild Thing Mono

Nice work. It is good to make your own hardware, not only is it fun but it greatly reduces the cost of your bits too.
This is the hardware I made for mine, it is all homemade.

RE: Voltage vs weight

Whilst the initial cost of the Lipo is greater than the Nimh, in my opinion they are better value for money.
3 Reasons......
-As already stated, the Lipo is a lighter pack
-Whilst the nominal...

RE: Mini Wild Thing Mono

If you feel like a massive read, there is a thread we have going over on RCG in dedication to the WT.
The guy that started it has used a Speed 700 9.6V and a few others including myself have...

RE: Mini Wild Thing Mono

Believe it or not, half of my 26 is balsa, I skinned it in the planking though for a bit of strength but kept the weight down in the process.
The hull itself is 2mm ply as are the bulkheads. It...

RE: Mini Wild Thing Mono

Looking really good there. I finished my 26" version last year and it is a fantastic hull.
It looks as though the propshaft angle is reasonably neutral, I have a similar setup and it works very...

RE: Mystery products? Is it really a mystery?

I have to agree with Trunkmunky, I run an 80A esc and after a water cooling mod and figuring out how to program it, I haven't had any dramas at all. You get what you pay for and these escs are...

RE: ECO boat with surface drive???

I see what you mean about the plowing!!! There is a bit of a rocker in that hull isn't there!!! Being that you are experimenting, I wonder if it would be worth putting an adustable strut on there,...

RE: Understanding Motor Power

4500kv is a pretty high KV to be putting in a boat, but that is not to say that it won't work. High KV motors are good in some instances..........you aren't running a huge amount of power through it...

RE: ECO boat with surface drive???

Just an idea on the rudder bracket, when I built my hardware, I used some 10mm aluminium angle as the brackets with one 6mm thick piece as the actual rudder arm itself. Have a look at the photo, it...

RE: ECO boat with surface drive???

Just from looking at it, the only problem I can see with the surface drive will be mounting the rudder etc on the transom, looks pretty slopey to me. Other than that I cannot see a problem. Strange...

RE: cheap battery idea?

There isn't any use having a super powerful motor if you cannot supply enough power, the ammo for instance needs at least 40amps constant to make it really sing. I know it doesn't have to be for...

RE: cheap battery idea?

Just to throw something else in the mix, have you considered downsizing the motor to an outrunner or something like that? You can pick up a 400 sized 3000kv with esc for 20 bucks these days on ebay....

RE: Water cooling ?

Sounds good, something else to ponder though, I would probably only have one outlet and run the water in one continuous loop through both motors. The problem will lie in the split, if one of the...

RE: Water cooling ?

The grimracer one is a similar if not the same design as the link I provided and does have direct water contact with the can. I know that the ones that you buy from OSE come with a piece of clear...

RE: Water cooling ?

Bear in mind too that the OSE water jackets are not suitable for brushed motors due to the water coming in contact with the can which isn't a problem on brushless inrunners because they don't have...

RE: renegade rigger?

The original RR's run an approx 3000kv outrunner motor which was picked by Steve to run in his prototype. I am pretty sure you can order with or without the motor, he does also or used to sell a...

RE: Riviera Wood hull FE

Your Riviera looks to be the earlier model like mine and fleetmasters. They weren't finished in what you could call the best clear that money can buy, in fact it is a pretty thin coat. Myself,...

RE: warning-micro hydro

609 works for me and large diesel bearings but Jdoug would probably have more experience than me with the boat shafts so go with that (no sarcasm intended Jdoug :)).
It can be a bit exp and if...
