RE: Demon in my 12X

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the 12X. The X9503 isn't much better with the software issues they are having. I was considering trading in my 9503 for a 12X but think I will just deal with...

RE: JR 9503

I am a little miffed with JR and this problem and I am not sure they know what the problem is. I checked my 9503 and it is in the group that is affected by the recall. I have models programmed above...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

Pete, I had a chance to run up my FG-20 today. Conditions here in St. Pal, MN were 32F and 69% humidity. I am using 89 octane gas mixed 20:1 with Zenoah 2 cycle oil. Today after about a 3-4 minute...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

Pete,

I haven't put a tach to it other than to ensure I didn't exceed 4000rpm on the initial run. Next time I run it up I will let you know the revs at WOT. Now that you mention the higher...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

Pete, I have the FG-20 in a Pulse XT 125 and just love the combination and so do a lot of others at my field. I purchased my engine in August of 2009 so I am sure it has the old carb but it seems to...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

I am using a 4 cell 2400mAh NiCad battery for my ignition on the Saito FG-20. The first 6-8 flights were flawless. Then I started having a miss at all speeds that had to be ignition because the...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

I agree. With Horizon and Saito's reputation I bought this expensive engine over other alternatives. It ran good for about 1/2 to 2/3 of a gallon of gas and then I started to have problems. I have...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

Today I finally had the time to try my FG-20 again. After about 8 very successful flights with the FG-20 I had a problem getting it to run right. It had a miss at all speeds that woul dnot go away....

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

I might try and see if I can get a new ignition unit from Horizon. They do warranty the engine for 3 years and I haven't had this engine for 3 months yet. They are usually good about standing behind...

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

I looked at the plug and it seems ok. It looked clean and the gap was ok when I removed it to check it. I was surprised by the lack of carbon build up with the rich oil mixture used for break in.

RE: Saito FG-20 or 21

I ahve been running the FG-20 in my Pulse XT 125 now for 6-8 weeks with about 3/4 of a gallon of fuel use. Up to this point it has been running very smooth and reliable. This past Saturday it runs...

RE: New KMP PC-21

I am looking at mine in the shop now. I have a Saito 1.80 that I could use or I have been considering the FG-36 gas 4 stroke from Saito. Either should fly the PC-21 well.

RE: Hobby Warehouse (Sky Hobbies) Closing

Instead of throwing my money away in the stock market I am investing in model airplanes. At least I can have some fun. (just kidding the market will come back some day.)

RE: GP GEE BEE

Built one for a friend and flew it for the first time last week. It is powered with a OS 120 four stroke. Flys great, fast, aerobatic, just keep the speed up on landing. It seems to like being wheel...

Lanier 80"232????

The larger CAP232 had zero degrees down thrust and I don't recall it ballooning when I backed off the throttle. I didn't have much if any right thrust built in either.

Lanier CAP232

I do not know if Lanier has fixed the wing problem or not. I have not yet replaced my kit and if I do it will not be with another Lanier kit. I think the Hangar 9 80" CAP232 ARF looks better aand is...

Lanier CAP

The BME 60 should fit in the cowl. If I remember right it is about 10" wide. Watch your speed though, this airplane will flutter. Other than the disasterous flutter it flew great, I wouldn't mind...

Lanier 80" CAP232 ARF wing flutter

Terry,

My wing tube sockets were loose in the wing panels to begin with. After contacting Lanier they offered a fix but would not replace the wings. I begrudgingly applied the fix and both wings...

Lanier 80" CAP232 ARF wing flutter

T28Pilot,
A friend of mine has the Edge540 and it flies great. He had some problems to begin with but sealing hinge gaps took care of any flutter. He powered his with a FPE2.4 engine. Very fun...

Lanier 80" CAP232 Wing Flutter

Mike,
the wings plug in on a 1" dia. aluminum tube. The tube survived the crash intact. The wing is straight and could probably be repaired if there was a fuselage left to mate it to. I would be...
