How small do you need? APC makes a 4.4X2 Sport prop and a 4.1X4.1 Electric.
I'd NOT use any metal prop, especially home made, under ANY modeling circumstances.

160 Gemini smoke set up?

If you have a "MACS" store you can usually get long bits in the smaller sizes. I put together a set from 1/16" up to 1/4" pretty reasonably. The shortest was 6" long.

Chad-- Craft-Air, Inc makes an .049 "Para-Pod". We've used one and it does work. Drops after the fuel is exhausted or is servo command dropable.
