RE: THOR 45 CDI at Hobby People Comments

Thanks for the offer Alan,

I think the Zenoa will be heavier than the Thor and I am already overweight and nose heavy.

Thanks anyway.

Alan

Thats all good news.

One of my club mates is building the big DB Hurricane also with a 45cc petrol. A real show-stopper.

As long as my CofG will stand it I'll continue with the...

Looking at my Pitts now I see your point - its got a very high AofA on the ground with a long, unforgiving under carriage. Not the best model to 'go petrol' with. I'll see how it shapes up...

RE: THOR 45 CDI at Hobby People Comments

Alan

The retailer, who seemed very knowledgeable, recommended it. Certainly it helps with the throttle run.

I too hope that the "pulse hole lines up" ....err, what are those!

I partly...

Alan

That sounds a good setup.

It'll be interesting to see how our installations perform.

I have rotated the carb by 180 and attached a plastic throttle arm.
Good 12" between...

Thanks Alan

A bit of experimentation is the order of the day - let us know how your layout performs.

I will try keeping the ignition kill switch and battery close to the ignition module,...

RE: THOR 45 CDI at Hobby People Comments

I'm installing my Thor 45 CDI and have a few questions:

RE: Flair/Jamara Leo Build...

Fellow Leo flyers: what is your COG set at?

Mine is set to 170mm. Any further back and it gets twitchy. Any further forward and inverted requires a lot of down elevator and it pulls out of a...

Thanks for the manifold support tip, indeed my manifold did break.

RE: Flair/Jamara Leo Build...

Had three flying sessions so far and pleased with Leo's performance. Smooth, steady, axial etc and easy to land.

At first with an ordinary silencer hanging in the...

RE: Flair/Jamara Leo Build...

My Leo is coming along, thanks for the tips in this thread.

What are we doing for cooling exit holes?

We have the engine and exhaust pipe fully enclosed - where is that heat going to go?

RE: KMP Hurricane in detail

They fly really well but landings are hard work!

For me it goes in threes: one good landing (stays on wheeels) one bad (nose over) and one ugly (hard nose over and slight crack).

My...

Dai

You are quite correct - I am reliably informed that only one Hurricane took part in the D-Day operations and invasion stripes are not scale at all.

I felt that the model looked very...

RE: KMP Hurricane in detail

After a few tribulations I am finally flying the Hurri.

OS 120 pumped, 16x8, 14lbs, mucho lead in the front.

It flies really well and in spite of the weight can be flown very slowly. Takes...
