I fly my raptor 50 with DS8311's ,GY401/9254 and have had no issues with my 4.8v system at all., I have a JR 2200mAh 4.8v pack. I think the key is to use a pack with low internal resistance...

Thanks.. just trying to decide between two helis I'm looking at buying . For around the same money, one has tp servos and I get some lipos, spares,case etc other has 65's but no lipo's or...

I've just replaced the plastic gears in my ds-285's after a slight altercation with the ground (will post photo's when I get home).... However I didn't know you could change the plastics in the 285's...

I hadn't considered that .. Of course the load is going to have to go somewhere... cheaper and faster to replace gears than head.. and that's if the head is the only thing damaged..

I'll use them for now and then maybe replace them with the mg's or re-gear them with metal gears.. This is my third heli , after CX-2 and Belt-CP.. though I'm in no way a proficient...

Oh I'm so glad that someone else has this exact same issue. Iwas going nuts thinking it was my setup gone wrong.. Mine does exactly that lifts off and back left big time..... I did the same thing.....
