RE: Hosting a Combat event: How to get started?

There are actually quite a few events that do the spot landing bonus. The points don't go into the RCCA National Points System tally but they could be the deciding factor for the event placings. I...

RE: Hosting a Combat event: How to get started?

Did you look at the CD Guide on the RCCA site? Lot's of good info in it. Look at the RCCA forum topics - "Upcoming Events" and "Debrief" for first hand accounts of what was planned and how it went...

RE: Mousse Cans

The metal is soft enough on those you can use some kind of a rounded end rod to push the dents back out from the inside - that's what I do and it I haven't thrown one away yet...

RE: Gremlin wing flex?

I run a couple of full length strips of bi-di then cover the rest of the wing with colored packing tape to hold down the tape cost.

RE: Why do you fly combat?

Same thing at my club. I think a lot of guys learned to fly being so worried about not crashing that they can not even imagine putting a plane up that is more than likely to experience contact with...

RE: Electric Mini HOR

Your front wing mount rubberband is inducing way to much up thrust on your motor. I have seen planes with a lesser condition come close to hitting the pilot in the keester upon launch. You will not...

I have spun a couple 4 stroke props off. That's why some manufacturers have a jamb nut on the prop nut. Make sure it is good and tight. My Saito manual claims a too rich needle setting could possibly...

RE: Flat Bats...?

I have not done it myself but have seen it used. These were for combat and the guys lightened them up by drilling a ton of 1/2" holes in the stuff. Even with all the holes it was pretty durable.

I have a 720 mA NiM pack inside this bat. It fits just right. I cut about 8 or 10" off this one to get it down to fighting size :D
