RE: Ziroli - Tubinator E

Mark, you will find it to be a very stable , preditable flier. Keep in mind it is not a 3D plane. If you do build it with retracts the weight is going to be a bit high. The other thing that will help...

RE: Turbinator-E

Crash, the WM 400 fan works fine. The plane seems to have a bit more power. I have tested the thrust using my test stand. I was getting 2 lbs, 4 ounces of thrust at 39 amps. The motor I used was a...

RE: RCLander Jets

Mike, I just got back from flying. The Panther is flying as well as I can make it. The lighter weight has dramatically improved performance. Hand launch is a matter of a toss. No more running and...

RE: RCLander Jets

Mike, finally got some flying weather. I tested the modifications to the Panther. The retracts self destructed on the first attempt at take off. We don't have a paved runway, so I guess that idea is...

RE: RCLander Jets

Nice job on the Panther Mike. Like you I went with a separate power for the receiver. I used a 3 amp Hobby Wing BEC. I would also agree with you that the retracts could be an issue. I have finally...

RE: Turbinator-E

I finally got a maiden flight on my Turbinator. I found no nasty tendencies. It flew very smoothly with little trim needed. (dumb luck.) It did seemed to be a bit underpowered. With that in mind I...

RE: Turbinator-E

There were some other deviations I forgot to mention. The plans call for a 3/32 sq balsa spar on the leading edge of the wing, and top and bottom of the main spar. I installed .157 carbon fiber tube...

RE: RCLander Jets

I am asuming that mine was a first run.

RE: Turbinator-E

I finished mine a couple of days a go. This particular plane is not an easy build. The effort was worth it. I did deviate from the plans a bit.

I am a bit lazy, and so I ordered the short Kit...

RE: RCLander Jets

I have one, and it has flown. On the first flight I didn't have the CG set right. Under power it flew fine, however once the power came off the nose immediately pointed up. It was a bit of a trick to...

RE: DUCTED FAN JETS

My parts came in for the twin. At this moment, I am using a separate BEC. I tried mixing throttle and rudder, and all I could get was one fan to fire. Neither fan fired when using the rudder....

RE: DUCTED FAN JETS

That is a good thought. I am thinking that I should disconnect both BEC's and install a separate BEC. That would solve the problem with the BEC's, and hopefully I will get the desired effect of...

RE: unofficial home of the EDF Strykers

It is my opinion that a Stryker just don't look right unless there is a fan hanging out the back. I don't have any pictures of mine, but I will try to do that. There really wasn't much to it. I just...

RE: DUCTED FAN JETS

I would suspect that you may be right, however I went back to the book for the transmitter. I am looking at using one of the mixes. My thinking is that an ESC isn't too much different than a servo...

RE: DUCTED FAN JETS

I am in the process of finishing a Multiplex Twin. There is a bit of a twist. I mounted two 64 mm fans on it. All I am waiting is the ESC's. I have a question. Is it possible to mix the throttle and...
