I have a Saito 91 lying around and was thinking about putting it in my new Twist 40. It is supposed to be the same footprint as the Saito 72 which is recommended for the plane. Has anyone used this...

I am driving down from Austin for the meet on Saturday. Bringing my new Edge 540, not sure if I'll fly it or not. Still needs to be setup but I'm sure there will be lots of help there? Bill

Set your expo at least at 30-40% on elevator and ailerons....also, the correct cg is 4" at the fuse on the extra and edge from Seagull...both fly much tamer with that cg...Bill

Read above....the correct CG on a Seagull Extra is 4" at the fuse....this makes it very tame and lands nice and slow...Bill

I ran mine with a Saito 91 and if flew great...set the cg at 4" at the fuse and turn the expo up to at leat 30%...it is a very responsive plane and will snap out if it gets to much elevator...

Mine flew great at 4" at the fuse...it also had lots of wrinkles but they came out easily with a gun..Bill

Thanks, let me know also as mine was a bit squirrely also...I increased the expo to 45% for the next flight to see what that does...the throws are also at 60% travel on ailerons...Bill

Post flight checkout - the engine mount was already installed. After the first flight, the engine mount bolts were all backed out...could have been a disaster if I had flown much longer...I ca'd and...

Seagull Extra 300 Maiden Flight

Well, the maiden flight was today. She trimmed out nice, very touchy on the controls, that was with minimal throws and 20% expo on ailerons and elevator. Will bump it up to 40 % expo and fly again...

I did the same thing with my Saito 91 on a Extra 300, used a flexible cable thru the nylon sleeve into an easy connector. I didn't have enough room to even solder the end on , I just put the cable...
