Stangel Skylark R/C for C/L flying (?)

So, I have this Skylark 40 R/C from Lee Stangel that I've never flown as I don't live near a field. I'm thinking of converting it to C/L but haven't flown C/L for 40 years. Does this sound...

RE: What age were you at first C/L flight.

I must have been about 11 or so when someone gave me a Firebaby for my birthday. I had no one to help me learn, so I shortened the control lines to about 6 feet and just swung it around with the...

RE: Need help with throttle

Whoops, even blew it on the model number.....it is FP-MC112B, definitely Futaba. I think it's from early '90's.

RE: Need help with throttle

Well, I may have started off giving you some mis-information. I did find the manual in the charger box. This thing is referred to as a FET motor control amp. It appears to do basically the same thing...

RE: Need help with throttle

Unfortunately, there is no manual for the ESC, only for the transmitter and receiver. I'll try the setup using the steps you outlined and see how that goes. Thanks for the advise.

Need help with throttle

I'm an airplane guy, so please excuse my ignorance here. I was given a RC10 truck by a guy who is tired of it. It has a Futaba radio and BEC system. I have tried everything I know to get some...

Single conversion crystal

Where can I find a s.c. (72-7) crystal for a FP-R107N FM receiver? I really don't want to have to buy a set as I already have 2 TX crystals.

RE: Are there online retailers for 1/2a, 1/8a?

Has anyone tried the Herr Pitts special (pg.59 Tower cat) ? Looks neat from the pic, for .061-.074.

Fuel question revisited

I know this one has been run a few times, but from some of the comments I've seen, I still don't know the real answer. I have an AP .061 that I broke in on Cox 1/2A fuel. I have a lot of Wildcat 20%...

My favorite hobby store

I don't have a LHS within a 2 hour round trip so I use mail order rather than 15 bucks worth of gas and a lot of driving time. I just got my latest Tower order and they sent some fuel line in place...

Rich,
Does this mean that if a crystal has the right frequency, it doesn't matter whether it is AM or FM?

Crystals- the more I learn, the less.......

Can any of you experts enlighten this dummy?
I have been seeing ads for Hitec receiver crystals that claim to be Futaba compatible. Let's take a single conversion Futaba receiver for example. Will a...

Gentle Lady with power pod

I'm going to try a great planes pod I have with a 600 motor. What's the lightest battery pack (minimum [email protected]) I can get away with to get it up a couple hundred feet? Thanks for any suggestions.....
