RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Hi Kahloq,

that is an interesting colour scheme but alas its not a spitfire. It looks to me like the Supermarine Mk26, the name Supermarine was bought by an Australian company that turns out 3/4...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

That looks really nice Warwix. I agree with the retracts servo info given here. I flew my H9 spit with Robarts and found that BMS136 MG (apparently it'll lift 6.1kg's) worked just fine. Important to...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Have you tried using split washers on the wing bolts? They'll keep them tensioned.

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

HI Smokey,

The spit is very easy, I could rattle out a replacement fuse or wing for the spit in a matter of hours, the P51 is trickier but still pretty straightforward. There are a couple of...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Hi Guys,

I've just completed and maidened the blue nose after about two years on the spit (P51's much easier to land!)
I was looking at the P51 retracts and wondering the same, but here are...

RE: Hangar 9 Blue Nose BEWARE!!!!

Hi Ray,

I had a similar problem on one of my spits, namely that I oculd get a screw that fitted anywhere. I suggest that you get on e bay and look for M6 x 70 allen bolts (I think you call them...

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV

Hello all,

I have a 72" YT Mk 14 spit and had a small (ish) fire in the workshop which chomped through the rudder and elevator of the spit. Luckily the fuse was saved without a mark on the tail...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

I've had a few hard landings and a couple with the same results as you. It may sound like a cop out but even when repaired the retracts mounts never really hold out for long. Easier to get a new...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

I should also caution to treat the approach carefully with the c of g forward, long approaches until you're comfortable. If you're used to pushing it into the deck you may find you achieve a lower...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

To be fair to H9, there isnt too much that needs doing on the airframe. Cosmetically the sky is the limit. The colours wrong, the wings are too short, the cockpits the wrong shape and too big, the...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Hi Maverick,

I run an electric spit, started with the recommended set up but quickly found that it was only just enough to fly, so upgraded from an eflite 60 to a 110 and 8 cells, which means...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Hi Guys,

thought I'd throw in my bit as well:

The H9 spit is very tricky to land if you don't get the C of G right. The other big factor is getting the flap degree just right too, too much...

RE: Hangar 9 spitfire crash

Just a quick and very easy improvement I thought I'd share with you guys. I've had the H9 spit for some time now and have always hated the canopy. It looks like a cheap plastic green house, too big...
